Recognising that fragmentation was limiting the impact of Singapore's environmental groups, I launched Climate Catch Ups to weave isolated efforts into an integrated network.
As the lead strategist and facilitator, I was responsible for end-to-end execution: from conception and recruitment of volunteers to building the digital infrastructure, designing events, and moderating discussions. The initiative—featuring a "marketplace" for needs and offers, speed-dating sessions, and network analysis to identify gaps and mutual support avenues—quickly grew from a pilot into a sustained community.
The result was a robust network of 50+ designated liaisons from 25+ green groups. This critical mass allowed us to pool resources, share knowledge, reduce duplication, and support each others’ efforts more effectively. We were also able to orchestrate cross-sector coalitions, such as partnering with migrant worker advocates to produce a joint solidarity statement and call-to-action during the COVID-19 crisis.
