Community Fundraising

Activated personal networks to mobilise resources for Rojava, Palestine, Myanmar, and local community members facing socio-economic difficulties

My commitment to social justice extends beyond my individual mutual aid praxis; I bring my communities together to raise financial support for international humanitarian causes and local acquaintances in need of assistance. Some of my past initiatives include:

• COVID-19 Medical Aid for Rojava (2020): During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rojava (North and East Syria) was facing a severe humanitarian crisis compounded by war and ethnic cleansing. I directed an online fundraiser, conducting research, writing copy, and creating graphics to raise awareness of Rojava’s history, purpose, and plight. The campaign successfully raised $2,025 SGD for Kurdish Red Crescent.


• Fundraising Film Screenings for Palestine (2023) & Myanmar (2025): I co-organised private film screenings, combining cultural education and solidarity. For our first film screening, I curated a program of Palestinian short films for 10 attendees, raising $210 SGD for Medical Aid Palestine. Our second film screening accommodated 18 attendees and raised $1045 SGD for local organisations in Myanmar assisting those affected by the coup and documenting the evolving situation.


• Eviction Prevention Through Mutual Aid (2024): I coordinated a rapid-response mutual aid call that successfully raised $1,005 SGD within a critical timeframe to prevent the eviction of a local community member.
